Interior & Exterior Painting Questions
What sort of interior and exterior painting services do you offer?
Inside, we paint walls, ceilings, doors, skirting boards and trims. Outside, we paint weatherboards, cladding, fascias, soffits, window frames and doors. Tell us what you have in mind and we'll quote for the whole job or just part of it.
How many coats of paint are needed?
Usually a primer where needed, then two finish coats. New plasterboard, bare surfaces and big colour changes need primer first. We'll tell you what your job needs when we quote.
Do you protect floors and furniture?
Yes. We cover floors and furniture with drop sheets, mask off areas we're not painting, and tidy upat the end of each day.
Do you paint over existing paint?
Yes, as long as the surface is prepared properly. We clean it, sand it, repair any damage and prime where needed. Flaking or peeling paint is removed first, otherwise the new paint won't last.
What sort of exterior surfaces do you paint?
Weatherboards, fibre cement and plaster cladding, brick, fascias, soffits, window frames, doors and gutters. If you're unsure whether your surface can be painted, send us a photo.
How often should the exterior be painted?
Most Auckland homes need repainting every 8 to 10 years, depending on the paint used and thecondition of the surface. Homes near the coast, or facing strong sun, may need it sooner because ofsalt air and UV.
Can you paint in any weather?
Interior painting goes ahead in any weather. Exterior painting needs dry conditions, so we avoid rain, heavy humidity and very cold days, and reschedule if the forecast changes. That protects the finish and helps it last.
